Grant County Recent Arrest Sources
Start with the Grant County JailTracker application. It acts as the official hub for current custody at the Grant County Detention Center. Think of it as a live roster, not a countywide arrest log. Someone cited and released may never show up. Juvenile matters, transfers, and fast in-and-out bookings can slip past it too. Grant County posts no separate official feed marked 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours. So a thorough arrest check leans on the roster. A phone call to the jail helps too. So does the arresting agency, and a written request when needed.
The Grant County departments directory lays out the county's official map of offices. It names the detention center, the sheriff, and the county's inmate-information route. That distinction matters. The agency that made the arrest differs from the jail that handled the booking. Each piece answers a different question.
The directory gets you to the right public offices. For live status on a named person, though, JailTracker or a call to the detention center is still the way to confirm an arrest or booking.
| Window or record | Grant County source | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | No verified separate official 24-hour feed | Check JailTracker, then call GCDC if a fresh booking may be delayed |
| Several days | No official rolling booking page | Use the roster and periodic Grant County News reports |
| Current custody | Grant County JailTracker | Confirm whether a person is lodged at GCDC |
| Older arrest | Agency request and court file | Seek a maintained booking, incident, or disposition record |
For same-day options, see the Arrests Last 24 Hours page, which covers the fallback search. The broader Police Blotter page digs into weekly reports and archived arrest records.
When Grant Bookings Appear
No rule says how fast a Grant County booking reaches the web. JailTracker holds detainee profiles, charges, booking photos, housing, and incident details, yet its public face shows no live count or fixed refresh time. A person can be in custody before the search returns a match. Arrest time, booking time, and display time are three separate events. Late-night intake, identity checks, medical clearance, or a transfer call can stretch the delay. The official sources never put a number on it.
Try the live roster first. If someone is missing and time matters, call Grant County Detention Center at (859) 824-5191. Ask whether the person was received, released, or moved. The jail handles bond questions too. No sheriff or jail app offers a second daily feed. Social media posts from agencies may sketch an incident. They make a poor custody list.
Note: Even though JailTracker supports booking photos, a Grant County detainee result may still appear without an image attached.
Search Grant County Jail Roster
The Grant County Detention Center sits at 212 Barnes Road in Williamstown. It holds 348 beds. Adults of both sexes are housed there. County detainees share the facility with some state inmates and program participants. The public roster runs through JailTracker. It is an interactive search, not a static county list. Someone booked into GCDC might be awaiting court, serving a county sentence, held for another agency, or placed in a state-linked program.
| Search or result element | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| Name | Use exact spelling and try a first initial when a full name fails. |
| Booking date | Shows intake timing when displayed, not necessarily arrest time. |
| Charges | Lists charges entered with the booking, not the disposition. |
| Custody details | May indicate current status, subject to the live result. |
| Image | The interface supports image tools, but a photo is not promised. |
Stick to the official path. Open JailTracker and type the person's name. Check identifiers carefully before you assume a match. The live result exposes booking and charge tabs, so read those rather than a copied listing elsewhere. When something looks unclear, call GCDC directly, and for an arrest record that has dropped off the roster, ask the office holding the booking document.
- Booking
- The jail intake process after a person is received.
- Bond
- A court-set financial or nonfinancial condition tied to release.
- Detainer
- A request or hold from another authority that may affect release.
- Disposition
- The court outcome, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or sentence.
GCDC keeps bond questions at the jail. No fixed bond schedule appears online. A charge card alone cannot tell you when a person walks out, because bond amounts, transfers, other holds, or a court order can all shift custody status.
Where Grant Arrests Get Published
Go to the official record first. An agency report, a GCDC booking, a court case, and a DOC profile each answer a different question about a Grant County arrest. Newspapers and commercial sites come later in the search. Grant County News runs recurring sheriff and detention-center reports, though those periodic items are not the live roster.
| Channel | Official? | Photo | Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grant County JailTracker | Yes | Possible, not guaranteed | Current or recent GCDC custody |
| Sheriff records | Yes | Request if maintained and releasable | Sheriff-held arrest records |
| Kentucky courts | Yes | Not a mugshot source | Filed charges and outcomes |
| Grant County News | No, newspaper | Reports are not a gallery | Selected periodic reports |
| Commercial county pages | No | May republish images | Unofficial data that may lag |
The Grant County public-notice archive returns dated issue results. It documents the local multi-day source without showing a gallery of people.
The archive is good for dated context. A selected newspaper report cannot confirm present custody. It also cannot settle the final court result. Commercial pages worth a look include RecentlyBooked Grant County, Grant County Mugshots Zone, Arrests.org Grant County, and the historical Mugshots.com Kentucky directory. Treat each one as an unofficial lead; Busted Newspaper lists no active Grant County, Kentucky section.
Recent Arrests by Grant City
City size says nothing about arrest volume. A home address does not pick the jail, either. Someone arrested by municipal police, the sheriff, or Kentucky State Police shows up in the GCDC roster only when lodged there.
- Crittenden Recent Arrests covers city administration, the sheriff, KSP Post 6, and the lack of a verified city blotter.
- Williamstown Recent Arrests covers Williamstown Police and GCDC custody in the county seat.
- Dry Ridge Recent Arrests covers Dry Ridge Police, KSP Post 6, and the county booking route.
Crittenden posts no standalone police roster of its own. Williamstown and Dry Ridge list police contacts, but neither city runs a daily booking-photo feed. JailTracker stays the county custody check whenever GCDC books the person.
Grant County Arrest Record Fields
A booking record works like a snapshot taken at intake. It ties a person's identity to the moment the jail received them, the agency that brought them in, the charge entered, and the holding location. Kentucky's schedule names a Daily Record of Arrests. Its required fields include the booking number, name, date, age, identifying data, arresting officer, and charge. A live result may show less or more. JailTracker modules point to charge, image, housing, and incident functions, though that presence does not prove every public entry carries each field.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | Identity and the jail identifier, not a court case number. |
| Arrest or booking time | Separate points in the event and intake sequence. |
| Arresting agency | Who made the arrest, which can differ from the jail. |
| Charge | The charge recorded then, subject to court change. |
| Bond | A displayed condition that should be confirmed. |
| Photo | An intake image, never proof of guilt. |
| Custody status | Held, released, or transferred when the source updates. |
What if a name disappears? Names do drop off the roster. The person may have bonded out, been released, transferred, or moved into another system. A booking record can outlast the roster entry itself. Ask the custodian for the dated record, and turn to the court file for the disposition.
Grant County Mugshots and Photos
JailTracker ships with image and mugshot-lineup components, yet no Grant County policy promises a public photo for every booking. Read any live result as "if displayed." A booking photograph simply documents intake. No individual booking photos or mugshot galleries appear here.
A sentenced or supervised person may show up instead in the Kentucky Department of Corrections KOOL offender search. KOOL runs on its own state schedule. It may show a camera indicator or profile photo, though DOC guarantees nothing. It is not the Grant County same-day channel. Someone released from GCDC can be absent from both the roster and KOOL while a local booking record still exists.
Commercial pages can keep an image after an official list changes. Their labels and charge text are not authoritative. Confirm the booking with GCDC. Verify the outcome with the court clerk.
Request Grant County Arrest Records
Sometimes a roster result is missing or too thin. Request the exact record from the holding office. The Grant County Sheriff's Open Records policy accepts delivery, mail, fax, or email as the office describes. Sheriff-held requests go to Official Custodian Mike Wright. The address is Grant County Sheriff's Office, 212 Barnes Road, Suite A, Williamstown, KY 41097. The published fax route is C/O Mike Wright at (859) 824-3334. A jail booking may need GCDC direction. A municipal incident report belongs with city police. The official request page lays out the policy, the response rule, and the costs to check before submitting anything.
The current policy should control if a fee, delivery method, or custodian detail changes.
- Name the person and give a narrow date range.
- Identify the arresting agency when known.
- Specify the booking record, arrest report, incident report, or booking photograph.
- Choose inspection or copies and give response contact details.
- Keep the request and any explanation of delay, redaction, or denial.
The sheriff decides and notifies the requester within five days, weekends and legal holidays excluded. Regular copies and photographs run ten cents per page. Color copies, compact discs, and mailing cost actual cost. Research or custom records run $25 per hour. These terms cover only records in that office's custody, not every jail, court, or city record.
Kentucky Booking Photo Law
Kentucky's Open Records Act starts from access to public agency records. Exceptions exist. Active investigations, protected personal data, juvenile files, sealed or expunged matters, and other restricted material can all fall outside it. A custodian may redact or explain a denial. Everything depends on the record and its holder. A public arrest list is not the same class as a fingerprint file, juvenile investigation, court file, or active warrant index.
The official statute provides a court remedy, possible costs and attorney fees, and discretionary daily damages in the circumstances it defines. It does not force every host to delete an accurate record on demand. Preserve the URL and the demand. Consult a Kentucky attorney when advice is needed.
The AOC-496 Petition for Expungement is an official form. Timing and eligibility hinge on charge and outcome. After a signed order, send it to each official custodian and copied host. RecentlyBooked publishes a free correction or removal policy for several stated cases, subject to its rules. Mugshots Zone offers contact or removal navigation on its current page. Other hosts list no clear free local route. No result is promised there. Do not pay an intermediary for a request you can send yourself.
If a source removed or changed the material but a search result stays stale, Google's outdated-content tool can seek a refreshed result. It cannot force removal from a live source. Start with the record holder or host.
How Long Grant Records Remain
Retention and public display differ. Kentucky schedules give some fingerprint and mugshot files an 80-year life. Felony information in certain arrest records runs 50 years. Misdemeanor information lasts five. The jail register counts five years after release rather than after booking. A daily arrest list may be destroyed early. Those periods bind the agency, not the website. JailTracker makes no promise of a public web archive stretching across the same span.
Ask the sheriff or jailer first for recent Grant County records. Older transferred material travels the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives request route. The KDLA form accepts a date-bounded inquiry. That inquiry names county, agency, and record series. Its State Archives holds no personal-name index. Spell out Grant County and the sheriff or jailer. Add a date range and whether you seek a daily arrest list, jail register, arrest record, or photograph. A newspaper account may survive after the roster is gone.
Note: An archive entry can show arrest or jail custody without showing the final plea, dismissal, acquittal, diversion, or sentence.
Grant County Arrest Warrant Checks
Grant County publishes no searchable active-warrant list. The sheriff offers no most-wanted page, Warrant Wednesday series, or Crime Stoppers roster either. Deputies do serve warrants, summonses, and subpoenas. The patrol page confirms that duty. It names no wanted suspects and posts no photos or update schedule. A commercial site's wanted label proves nothing.
The Grant County Sheriff patrol page documents the service role. It points to the warrant-service route without hinting any public wanted gallery exists.
Call the sheriff at (859) 824-3333. Non-emergency dispatch answers at (859) 428-1212. Circuit Court takes questions at (859) 824-4467, and District Court at (859) 823-5251. Ask what staff can lawfully confirm. Anyone who might have a warrant outstanding should reach an attorney or the issuing court.
Never confront, follow, detain, or try to serve someone you believe is wanted. Call 911 only for a true emergency. Use the non-emergency line for everything else.
After a Grant County Arrest
Booking at the jail is only the opening step. An arraignment follows early. That hearing can take up the charge and the conditions of release. Prosecutors may amend or drop a charge. Cases get diverted, and judges or juries reach their own results. The Grant County Court of Justice page lists clerk and court contacts. The public gateway may open case access. The clerk supplies complete or certified copies.
GCDC holds several custody groups, from county detainees to state-program participants. Its site lists a 69-bed state work program. There is a 100-bed Substance Abuse Program. The SOAR program keeps expanding. A roster label alone never settles custody status. Someone may be pretrial, serving a county sentence, held for another authority, or in a state program. Match the booking number to the court case when you can.
Booked versus released: A booked person may show in JailTracker. After release the live entry can drop while the agency record remains. Someone later in state custody or supervision may appear in KOOL.
Grant Records Beyond County Custody
Match the locator to the custody system. KOOL covers Kentucky DOC incarceration or supervision. It updates on its own clock, apart from GCDC. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator reaches federal inmates from 1982 forward. It returns name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. It offers no county booking-photo feed.
The BOP search form shows the federal number and name routes. Use it only when federal custody seems plausible.
The federal form does not replace JailTracker for local custody questions.
The ICE Online Detainee Locator covers current ICE custody and some recent records. Search by A-number and country of birth. Exact biographical fields also work. The Marshals Service posts no county-style mugshot roster for pretrial custody, so confirm any federal or immigration hold with the court, facility, or agency involved.
Track Grant County Custody
Kentucky's Enhanced VINE can watch custody events. It allows confidential registration for release, transfer, or escape notices in participating systems. Grant County's local pages never say outright that every GCDC record feeds VINE. Run a live Kentucky and Grant County search. Then call the jail when a result is missing or matters. The VINELink Custody Check page explains the search fields, notification methods, and PIN use. It also covers the service's limits.
VINE is no court calendar, booking-photo archive, or BOP locator. Kentucky no longer offers VINEcourts. Check court dates with the clerk.
